Never too old to play
It might seem odd to learn something new about yourself at 50, but sure enough: this gal loves LEGOs!
Perhaps it isn’t such a revelation; after all, I raised five boys and used to joke that a burglar wouldn’t get very far in our house because they’d hurt themselves stepping on LEGO blocks. 😂 We had building blocks galore, and the boys played with them a lot.
What was eye-opening for me is how much I enjoy building LEGO projects by myself. 😌 When I used to “play LEGOs” with the kids, they wanted to build random things from their imaginations, which I totally encouraged, but that wasn’t much fun for me. I just wanted to build what the box displayed.
As an INFJ (Myers-Briggs), 2w3 (Enneagram), high-C (DISC), intellection/relator/strategic/achiever/input (CliftonStrengths), it probably comes as no surprise that I. Want. To. Follow. The. Directions. 🤓 Go figure!
My family and my Bestie started feeding my Harry Potter obsession and getting me LEGO sets for gifts a year or two ago. I have had so much fun building everything from small kits and large projects! Not only is it a helpful mental break to get my mind off of stress, but I’ve also noticed that it helps my arthritic hands with fine-motor skills. The more I can do to improve & maintain mobility in all ways, the better!
The only issue now is where to put them all. 😅
